Wellbeing Wednesday – 8 Tips to Stay Positive
There is no denying that for most, this year has been hard.
There are things happening in the world right now which are out of our control and this can be overwhelming.
‘Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.’ Steve Maraboli
As this wonderful quote suggests, lets focus on what we can control, here are my top tips to help us to stay positive and hopeful:
✨ Exercise – There’s nothing like an endorphin high after a workout, put on your running shoes or yoga kit and move your body.
✨ Gratitude – Remind yourself every day of 3 things you are grateful for, we cannot feel anxious and grateful in the same moment.
✨ Sunshine – Get outside at least once a day for your dose of sunshine, the fresh air will instantly make you feel better.
✨ Laugh – Schedule in an activity each day that you know will make you laugh. Maybe a call with your friend, or a funny cat video that will make you smile.
✨ Meditate – Find time for stillness, time to connect to your true self, a moment to listen in, and notice how you feel.
✨ Look after your body – Keep the body fuelled and hydrated. We all know that eating junk food and not drinking enough water can make us feel cranky. Help optimise your mood by being mindful about what you’re putting into your body.
✨ Say No – You don’t always need to say Yes. Save your energy for the activities and the people that make you feel good. Repeat after me: I am no longer available for things that don’t make me feel good.
✨Self-Care – It’s so important to take time for ourselves. This might be a long hot bath after a hard day at work, or an afternoon nap on the weekend, listen to your body and take care of it. You can join me at 10am on Sunday 29th November for the Self Care Virtual Retreat, visit https://instabook.io/s2/katiejyoga and scroll down to Sunday, 29th November.
