About Katie J Yoga

Hi, I'm Katie, I'm a wellbeing advocate, travel seeker, planner. 

The first decade of my career was spent working within the event industry, in a high pressure, fast paced environment. In 2014 I moved to Australia, on the search for warmer climates, in Sydney I fell in love with Yoga - it was the rooftop, ocean view studio that hooked me in, but the calming, grounding feeling of being on my mat that kept me going back for more. 

Yoga taught me how to look after my body and mind, transformed my wellbeing - I knew this was a gift that needed to be passed on. 

On returning home to the UK in 2019 I completed my Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga at YMCAFit and continued with a 40 hour Yin Yoga training in 2020. I continue to keep up my own practice aspiring to always be a student as well as a teacher.

Continuing to work within the event industry until March 2020 when I was made redundant from this role. Overnight I went from event manager to small business owner, it was scary but exciting!

Delivering retreats had always been a dream of mine, a perfect marriage of skill sets. I am passionate about creating an experience where guests feel supported, guided, letting them relax and focus on self-care, all surrounded by likeminded people in wow factor venues.

Workplace Yoga is my other passion - whist working in the corporate world I needed yoga to help me re-connect and ground when feeling stressed & anxious, it saved me from burnout, gave me perspective.

Yoga and mindfulness have been transformational, brought stillness to my mind, energy to my body. Through practice I have been able to prioritise wellbeing. My aim is to teach others how to do the same.
